I'd like to highlight the important events which made 2008 a wonderful year for me and my family. :)
Bianca's first year in school!
yup, she's already in nursery (woo-hoo!) and she's the cutest Biggest pre-schooler on earth! We filed a leave on her first day because this is too important an event to miss. After 6 months, 2 school plays, 2 PTA meetings, 2 report cards, 1 family day, 1 grandparents day, N community days, 2 field trips, 1 uniform upsize, and 1 million pictures, we noticed her being more independent, sociable, and confident. :)
Career advancement.
I've been promoted to Senior manager sometime mid this year, the added benefits and compensation are not bad at all. And before the year ended, I got the GM's approval for a parallel position which I have been aiming for the past few months. Can't wait to get started! :) [btw, husband got promoted also around that same time. cheers to our hardwork!]
Health and Wellness.
There has been an increased H&W awareness in the household, thanks to my work and most especially for the consistent reminders of my husband. We took medical check ups seriously and researched on the right food diet for the family, even for my 4 year old.
Time to get married!
Five out of my 6 closest single girlfriends got married in 2008! the last girl standing will be wed in 2009. this is so cool! and a little bit overwhelming (read: we're getting old. ugh)
Buy Me!
A lot of major purchases happened in 2008 (not arranged in $): A king-sized bed (yup we're all getting bigger!), a 34-inch LCD Flat TV, a macbook, an IXUS 980S 14.7 mp point-and-shoot camera, cellphones, and a huge wall cabinet. Some major expenses also included home improvements such as our room renovation. whew. this may not seem big to others, but these are considered big cash outs for me and my family.
Not counting the children's books I've read to bianca, I realized I only read 6 books in 2008 (shameful!): Make today count, Purple cow, and the rest would be the Twilight Saga. :) thanks to Stephanie for increasing my book count. Despite the off-target book count, the rate means 1 book every other month which I think for a 24/7 working mom and wife, not to forget my scrapbooking and household chores on the side, this reading record aint that bad...
(magrationalize talaga)
Going strong! :)
yup, im still madly in-love with my husband. The more I get to know him, the more I become impressed. He still surprises me with good deeds and acts from the heart. He still makes me laugh, and with Bianca as his new side kick. In stressful times, he and bianca will just do their crazy dances and gimmicks. He tolerates my absence due to business trips (tolerate or enjoy? heehee)..and takes good care of Bianca and the household.
There's still a lot to discover and love about him and I can't wait for the succeeding years...
So that's it for my 2008. Pretty cool, huh?
Here's a snapshot of my 2009:
1 - Stay healthy!
2 - Spend more quality time with Bianca and Titan (no work from home!)
3 - Travel with family rather than travel for work.
4 - Invest more on savings rather than in the malls. :)
5 - Be more pleasant and kind in dealing with others.
6 - Spend time on hobbies and personal time (scrapbooking and others)
7 - Shop for personal stuff (clothes, make up, accessories....)
8 - Read more to Bianca
9 - Read more marketing books. Learn continuously.
10 - Pray More.
Happy New Year everyone!
